How to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility

To apply for educational benefits and obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), please visit the VA’s How to Apply page or the eBenefits page.

How to navigate the eBenefits website

Log in to eBenefits.

Navigate to “Manage your benefits.”

Navigate to “Education.”

Select your post-9/11 enrollment status.

Take two screenshots that have the date and time stamp: one that includes your name, social security number, how many months remaining and percentage of eligibility, and one with the most recent semester reported on your enrollment history.

Email screenshots to ptvcforms@asu.edu with "COE" as your subject line.

Before logging out of your account, confirm your mailing address is current. This is where the physical copy of your Certificate of Eligibility will be mailed.
